Salzburger Dommuseum
The Museum in the Salzburg Cathedral is dedicated to the art and culture of the oldest archbishopric in the German-speaking lands.
Rupertusoratorium
The exhibition rooms alone on the „upper floor“ of the cathedral are worth a visit – the so-called oratories above the chapel rows of the nave.
The particularly magnificent Rupertusoratorium embellished with stucco works and paintings, in the northern cathedral oratories, serves as a place where special exhibitions take place.
Anyone who visits the museum also learns about the important parts of the cathedral. The cathedral museum is at the same time a dioceses museum, and therefore displays valuable sacral artworks from various parishes of the archdiocese.
Wolf - Dietrich - Missalee
The art and wonder chamber in the southern cathedral arch dates back to a founding of Archbishop Guidobald Graf Thuns (1654-1668). Here, the archbishops of the 17th and 18th centuries collected pieces, which in those times were seen as being exotic, curious and specially experience.
